Activity Tour "B" - Oklahoma City

Harn Homestead – Staked in the Land Run of 1889, the Harn Homestead, just south of the state capitol, offers a wide variety of hands-on programs depicting the daily life of Oklahoma pioneers. Children have the opportunity to experience first-hand territorial farm life and assist with household and barn chores. The homestead includes numerous historical buildings, from the original 1904 Victorian Queen Anne-style home built on the property, to a dairy barn, a one-room schoolhouse, and the first two-story home built in the territory.
Myriad Botanical Gardens – Nestled amidst the skyscrapers of downtown Oklahoma City, the Myriad Botanical Gardens is a 17-acre, nationally recognized garden featuring the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory, an amazing 224-foot-long, glass-enclosed, circular jungle graced with towering palm trees, exotic plantings, crashing waterfalls and abundant animal life. The botanical gardens are a lush retreat of winding paths and calm waters in the heart of the city.
Oklahoma State Capitol – Although most famous for its active oil wells, the Oklahoma State Capitol is also rich with more than 100 works of art celebrating the state’s unique and diverse history. From monumental bronze sculptures, to magnificent murals, portraits and paintings, the art housed in the State Capitol creates beauty and interest for thousands of tourists each year.
